Camp General Schedule
• Our instructors this year are\: Louise St. Amour\, Sarah Martin\, and Gigi Nutter.
• Applications will be available online Thursday\, March 25\, and hard copies will be at the Jeff Moore Symposium in Shawnee.
• The format will be a little different this year. We wanted to incorporate some time for riders to interact with the instructors for questions and clarifications of their lessons. One idea was to lengthen camp to four days\, but that would increase our costs dramatically and everyone (horses included) is pretty tired by Sunday. Since our schedule is so packed\, we will eliminate the lunchtime demonstrations and shorten the lunch break a little.
• Then 45 minutes before dinner on Friday and Saturday each group will meet their instructor to review their lessons that day.
• Friday and Saturday each rider will have a 45-minute group lesson followed by a 30-minute private lesson. On Sunday each rider will have one 45-minute private lesson. To come up with a lesson plan for Sunday\, riders will meet with their Sunday instructor on Saturday night after dinner. We feel that by Sunday you know what you want to work on.
• All three instructors are very capable of meeting your needs.
• We will have evening lectures on Thursday and Friday.
• Yoga in the mornings. Massages will be available.
• Video will most likely be available.
Southerly Winds Farm will be hosting a clinic with Rachel Satory Saavedra June 5-6th we have a few rider slots available and unlimited auditing. This is a great opportunity for dressage enthusiasts\, riders\, teachers and trainers alike. In addition to the clinic Kim Rasmussen\, DVM will be providing a lecture and demonstration for equine acupuncture and osteopathy and James Oliver Farrier will be providing a lecture on proper shoeing and trimming.
Rachel is a senior faculty member for the USDF Instructor certification program\, and has been leading workshops around the country for over 15 years. She welcomes all dressage enthusiasts who come to workshops and clinics for continuing education whether it be an amateur\, a lower level instructor\, or a very experienced and accomplished trainer. Her goal is to help riders\, trainers\, and teachers stretch their abilities and explore training options while emphasizing the classical principles of dressage and traditional instructor training.

Program Description\: This two and a half day overnight camp is a multi-lesson style format that benefits the young rider. Riders will experience 3 instructors in lessons both on and off the horse. This program will be held over a weekend with horse and riders arriving on Friday night and staying through Sunday afternoon. The program will include ground and riding instruction in fundamentals of dressage and will include some cross training in jumping. The two days will be filled with riding and classroom instruction from quality riding instructors and guest speakers (veterinarian\, saddle fitter\, farrier). Riding will include both dressage and jumping instruction which will focus on development of the young rider's seat and connection.The final activity on Sunday will involve the camper choosing a dressage test to ride\, with the dressage instructor/judge reviewing it with them afterwards. This will enable the young riders to enhance their comprehension of what is expected when riding an actual dressage test.

The Grand National Morgan show is holding 2 1/2 days of dressage at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds on October 9 - 11th and we are looking for workers!
We need two scribes\, a scorer\, a bit checker and runners each day. They provide wonderful lunches and snacks and we can reimburse for travel\, etc. It is also a good opportunity for juniors in need of service hours.
The judges are Sue Malone Casey and Dolly (Janet) Hannon. Both wonderful ladies to work with and learn from.

We are pleased to announce that James Shaw will be returning to Oklahoma in October of 2010 to present his clinics guiding riders to a greater awareness of their bodies\, balance\, tension and relaxation through the exercises of Tai Chi. James’ popularity is expanding beyond the US and the UK\, This past year he was invited to present his clinics in both Germany and Switzerland\, and they are requesting time from him next year. His loyalty to those of us who have worked with him from the beginning assures our continued opportunity to have him return to Oklahoma in the future!

Learn about the sport of eventing in a relaxed atmosphere. Participate in mounted and unmounted sessions for a complete understanding of the three phases of eventing. You'll have the opportunity to give your horse a test drive in dressage\, stadium\, and cross country. Learn about required tack and attire among other topics.
Lurena Bell Clinic at Southern Hills Riding Academy. We have a few openings to ride with her. She will do 45 min private lessons on both Sat and Sun. Each private lesson is $125. She will also do semi-private lessons for $85 per rider (2 rider maximum).

Hi everybody\,
here is the registration form for the March clinic with Sarah Martin. The cost will be $120/private and $75/semi private. If you want to do a semi private you need to find your own partner. It will be held at Kay Kamish's Rivendell Farm. Kay will handle the stalls for both overnight and day.
Sarah has to leave on Sunday so that will be a shorter day with only room for 6 rides\, so only people riding all 3 days will get those spots.
Please return your forms to me with a $50 deposit\, with the balance due February 25.
